This is a Request for Information (RFI) only.
The goal of the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Solar Energy Technologies Program is to make solar energy cost compatible with grid electricity by 2015 and also to enable the high penetration of solar energy in the U.S. electricity market. The near-term goal of the Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) sub-program is to make CSP competitive in the intermediate power market through the development of advanced technologies that will reduce system and storage costs and to otherwise facilitate the deployment of utility-scale solar technologies. DOE is requesting information on the Solar Demonstration Zone Project.

Agreements resulting from this Funding Opportunity Announcement will require recipients to promote manufacturing within the United states. A minimum of 90% of the work, as defined by total project costs, must be performed on U.S. soil, which includes the United States proper, its territories, and territorial waters.
U.S. preference and manufacturing requirements under the Bayh-Dole Act, 35 U.S.C. 200-212, and U.S. Department of Energy regulations and policies will apply to all recipients and sub-recipients. |
